School Program

At DAS, we support a safe climate that challenges students to develop into creative and reflective life-long learners, while fostering a culture of tolerance, rigor and diversity. Students are encouraged to be able to think critically and independently equipped with the desire to learn. We strive to involve parents in our decision making through the PTA and conference meetings.

The school provides rich programming in Art, P.E., Foreign Language (French), Science, and Social Studies. Adjustments to instructional programs and schedules are frequently made to better meet the needs of a variety of learners. We seek to analyze multiple sources of data to be used to determine students' needs. Our mission is to offer an education which inspires all to their highest potential so they can achieve their aspirations and serve their country better.

MAP Exam :

MAP tests are administered for students grades 4-9 in Maths and English. After the completion of tests, results are analyzed and Learning Continuum objectives are set to target students based on standards mastery. The Learning Continuum constitutes the basis for intervention and as a result, teachers focus on specific standards so that students can perform better in the next MAP test. In addition, changes to the yearly academic plan take place accordingly.

GAT-SAAT :

The school prepares high school students to pass Saudi official exams GAT and SAAT through intensive training programs.

SAT I and AP :

The school prepares high school students to pass SAT I and AP (Advancement Placement) through Pre –AP which refers to a set of skills and competencies that are needed for success in Advanced Placement classes and college. The program helps build, strengthen, and reinforce students’ content knowledge and critical thinking skills.

Child Protection Policy :

The policy has been approved by the Board and clearly communicated to all stakeholders especially staff members who are in daily contact with children. The policy is an integral part of the Teachers’ Handbook Manual.

Safety :

The school provides services and precautions that ensure safety and healthy environment. Students are monitored around the clock with carefully set procedures to keep all students safe and sound.

Smart Boards / Computer / Instructional Program :

The school utilizes smart boards that are connected to the Internet where instructors can access "LMS" (Learning Management System) online resource center and differentiate instruction. In addition, Robotics and ICT instruction is offered to all students.

Library / Media Centers :

The school operates many resource centers that include libraries and other digital learning resources.

Arabic Language Program for students :

ALPS is an intensive course for non- Arabic speakers (speaking, reading, and writing) offered to students from Grade 1, through Grade 6; classes are scheduled on daily basis

Labs :

Laboratory work is considered essential in promoting students’ learning of science and of scientific inquiry. What the students perceive as important to learn from a regular laboratory exercise is probably affected by the teacher’s objectives. We study the extent to which one teacher’s objectives are fulfilled during lab work, and how teacher–student and student–student interactions contribute to developing learning experiences from the laboratory exercise DAS has separate laboratories for national and diploma sections that are fully equipped with safe protocols

School Playground :

Playground is a safe outdoors area within the school that helps children to use their creative energy in healthy interactions. DAS has large, open playgrounds with interesting play equipments that leaves many options for creativity.

Auditorium :

Our school promotes new avenues for the all-round development of the students. An important and critical feature of our school’s facilities is the auditorium. This grand hall has been the center stage for a number of our students who have proved their mettle in dramatics, debates, musicals and other talent shows.

E -Learning Platform :

LMS is the English acronym for Learning Management System. With the use of technological tools and resources, the LMS platform transforms the learning process into something dynamic, complete, and accessible.This technology applied to education makes the classroom experience much more effective. Dar Assalam is using LMS effectively making it more interactive, personalized with full support to students and teachers .

Pearson- Mcgraw Hill- Classera :

DAS has the selection of world class curricular programs which are approved by the Ministry of Education. DAS Follows the American Curriculum which is accredited by Cognia using the most effective and modern programs for its learning journey. In addition, DAS has used Mcgraw Hill LMS and Classera to provide quality education during the challenging times of the pandemic .
